Fluoride has long been used as a dental health tool, which has been a means of preventing cavities and fighting teeth-but now a new meta-analysis suggests that it can have “harmful effects” on the health of pregnant women and infants.
Researchers analyzed various studies, concluding that “fetus and young baby get very little benefits.”
According to the findings, systemic fluoride exposures can have a harmful effect on bone strength, thyroid function and cognitive development, which were published in the annual review of public health.

Philip Grandgen, a researcher at the study of environmental medicine at the University of Southern Denmark and a professor, told Fox News Digital that “fluoride is toxic for brain development.”
“It does not depend on the source of fluoride,” Grandzen. “In addition to fluoridated drinking water, we need to limit the ingestion of fluoridated toothpaste, which is great for dental health in itself, but not swallowing it.”

He recommended to avoid some types of black tea consumption-“Especially those who are grown in fluoride-rich soils (eg, East Africa and China and parts of India).”
The disease control and prevention center (CDC) states that fluoride strengthens teeth and reduces cavities by changing the minerals lost during normal wear and tears.

The review states that with increasing reach to fluoride over the years, the beneficial effect of fluoride is primarily topical, saying that there is no need for broad community fluoridation.

“In other words, the more fluoride you get, the less your IQ is going to be as much as … the benefits of the fluoride are topical,” Kennedy said.

“It was originally thought that when we put it back into water in the 1940s they were systemic,” he moved forward. “In other words, if you drink it, it will do something for your body to prevent the growth of cavities. But it is not how it works.”
The HHS secretary stated that the fluoride is associated with “excessive damage in bone density”.

More than 200 million Americans, or about 75% of the population, currently drink fluorideted water.
“Its full advantage comes from topical application … In this era there is no reason for this in the water supply where we have toothpastes and mouthwashes,” Kennedy concluded.

Kennedy said that he is planning to tell the CDC to prevent the CDC from recommending to add fluoride for drinking water, the Associated Press said.
Utah recently became the first state to pass a law banning fluoride in public drinking water.
Governor Spencer Cox signed the law in the bill last month, a step that was appreciated by those who supported the “Make America Healthy Again” movement.

MPs in other states including Ohio, South Carolina and Florida have also proposed to ban local governments or water system operators from adding fluoride to water.
