Food and grocery delivery Major Zomato said on Thursday that it has received the approval of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs regarding its name change in “Anant Limited” from 20 March.
As the shareholders have approved the proposal, the company’s corporate website will infection from Zomato.com to Eternal.com.
New Delhi: Food and grocery delivery Major Zomato said on Thursday that it has received approval from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs regarding the name change of “Eaterial Limited” from 20 March.
The shareholders of Zomato approved a special proposal to change the name of the firm ‘Anant’ earlier this month.
The brand name of the company’s food distribution business Zomato will remain the same with the app. However, the name of the corporate unit will be converted into eternal with stock ticks.
Eternal will include four major businesses (so far) – Zomato, Blinkit, District and Hyperpire.
“We want to inform you that the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), the Registrar of Companies, has approved the change in the name of the company from” Zomato Limited “from” ZOMATO Limited “from March 20, 2025. The name of the company has been amended from” Anant Limited “since 20 March.
In a letter to the shareholders last month, Deepinder Goyal, founder and CEO of Zomato said, “Our board has approved this change today and I request my shareholders to support this change. If and when it is approved, our corporate website will transition to Eternal.com from Zomato.com. He also stated that the decision to change the name of the company in public was in line with the Blinkit, which had become an important driver of his future.
“When we acquired the Blinkit, we started using” infinite “(instead of zomato) internal to distinguish between the company and the brand/app. We also thought that we would publicly convert the company into eternal, the day beyond Zomato became an important driver of our future.
