Vera c. A major milestone with the Rubin Observatory has arrived with the installation of the huge LSST camera of the telescope – the final optical component required before the final stage of the test may begin.

Car-shaped large synoptic survey telescope (LSST) camera which recently Vera C. The Rubin was installed on the observatories, the largest digital camera ever and will be used to capture wide images of the Southern Hemisphere Sky Sky.

“LSST camera on the telescope is a victory of science and engineering,” said Harriot Kung, acting director of the Department of Egypt of Science of Science. statement“We are eager to see the unprecedented images producing this camera.”

The telescope has been funded by the US National Science Foundation and the US Department of Energy of Science and its name was Dr. Vera c. Rubin is named after an American astronomer, whose work provided strong evidence for the existence of dark matter. Along with his colleague Kent Ford, Rubin noticed that he had studied in many galaxies, moving rapidly as near the center on the outer edges. This was unusual, because according to the rules of Newtonian physics and the motion of the planets of the capler, objects away from the center of a gravitational system should be more slowly orbiting due to pulling weak gravity.

After accounting for all visible matters, the gravitational force from the mass was not enough to keep these fast -moving stars bound to the galaxy. Without pulling additional mass to additional mass, galaxies should have flown separately. This discrepancy concluded that an unseen form of mass, now known as dark matter, was holding them together.

Following its name, Rubin Telescope will examine the secrets of dark energy and dark matter with state -of -the -art technology. Its state -of -the -art mirror design, highly sensitive camera, rapid survey speed and advanced computing infrastructure represent successes in their respective fields.

Every few nights, it will survey the whole sky, “Ultra-Wide, Ultra-High-Definition Time-Laps Record”, the statement states. Each image will be so spacious that 400 ultra-high-definement TV screen will be required to display it.

“This unique film will bring the sky of the night to life, discover a treasure of discoveries: asteroids and comets, pulsing stars, and supernova blasts,” State america Website of the Observatory.

While the LSST camera is an engineering miracle, its installation was equally challenging. In March 2025, after months of testing in the clean room of the Rubin Observatory, the summit team used a vertical platform lift to move the camera to the telescope floor. A custom lifting device was then posted carefully and first secured it on the telescope.

Freddy Munoz, the lead Freddy of the Rubin Observatory Mechanical Group, said, “There was an attempt to increase the LSST camera on the Simoni Telescope that required intensive plan, said teamwork in the entire observatory and millimeter-colored execution,” Freddy Munose, Rubin Observatory Mechanical Group said. “It is a proud moment for all of us to see LSST camera taking its place on binoculars.”

In the coming weeks, LSST camera utilities and systems will be connected and tested. Soon, it will be ready to catch the wide images of the night sky. Rubin Telescope under construction at Sero Pachon, Chile is expected to see the first light in 2025.
