The sports have become large, more competitive and exciting, but the chalk 2025 female NCAA remains the writing pot of choice as a tournament, which turns into the elite eight.
Uconn, TCU and UCLA Bruins performed large by their stars – Paige Bueckers, HAILEY VAN LITH and Lauren Betts. South Carolina, Duke and Texas bowed into defense. The USC somehow overcome the loss of Star Juju Watkins. And LSU got production from an unexpected source.
It leaves us with three 1 vs. 2 matches and a 1 vs 3 in the regional final, with several big -time match -ups facilities when the bracket was announced two weeks ago.
This also makes the ranking of the last eight teams more difficult, but we took our shot.
1. Eucon Hakis
Original seeds: Number 2 (Spochen 4)
Tournament results: 103-34 vs. 15 Arkansas State (first round); 91-57 vs. number 10 South Dakota State (round of 32); 82-59 No. 3 Oklahoma (Sweet 16)
With all those who have completed Pige Beukers with Huskis, it is difficult to believe that he was the greatest back-to-back NCAA tournament game in his career. He set a career-high 34 points in round two against South Dakota state and then blew up the last 40 in Sweet 16 against Oklahoma on Saturday. Beukers took full back after the reality in the second half after the reality. He had 29 points after the break and scored 19 straight fourth quarter points for Hakis at one point. No Uconn player had ever scored 40 points in the NCAA tournament game. Bueckers also passed Maya Moore for the highest per game scoring average (19.8) in Uconn history. Hakis has won its three NCAA tournament games with an average of 42 points and easily maintained the top position in the ranking that is moving towards Elite Eight.

2. UCLA Breins
Original seeds: No. 1 (Spochen 1)
Tournament results: 84–46 vs number 16 southern (first round); 84-67 vs number 8 richmond (32 round); 76-62 vs number 5 Ole Miss (Sweet 16)
Everything with UCLA begins with Lauren Bates. Bruce spread his half-court crime with his 6-foot-7 junior the ball in isolated one matchup. This neutralized an aggressive Ole Miss Defense and Bates helped score 31 points at 15 -16 from the ground. When he caught his 10th rebound, Bates became the third player in the last 25 years in the last 25 years to record the back-to-back, 10-rebound performance in the NCAA tournament. This is some aristocratic company: Elena Delle Done did in 2012 and in 2013 to Brittany Grinner. Bates’s legacy will be cemented in UCLA if she can get Bruce a final step in her first NCAA final final.

3. South Carolina GameCox
Original seeds: No. 1 (Birmingham 2)
Tournament results: 108-48 vs. 16 Tennessee Tech (first round); 64-53 vs. 9 Indiana (round of 32); 71-67 vs number 4 Maryland (Sweet 16)
The irony is striking: One of the most consistent programs of the last decade was once again dependent in the biggest game of the year to rely on his most wildly incompatible player. Milia Fulweli-season second major scorer of GameCox but a player also played three times a 10 minutes or less this season-was the best player in the court on Friday against Maryland. Her 23 points, eight of which came in the final 2:22, were a shy in their season, but also came a few days after one of those stents with less minutes in the second round of Fulvelli’s second round victory. Now Duke comes, rematch of SEC/ACC Challenge in December. South Carolina won the game by 11, but it was another three-point performance for Fulveli during the 15-minute play time. Keeping the script in mind, he scored 20 points against TCU three days later. Consistency maintains the gamecox and is the only part of the missing for Phulweli.

4. Texas longahorn
Original seeds: No. 1 (Birmingham 3)
Tournament results: Haraya number 16 William and Mary 105-61 (first round); Number 8 Illinois 65–48 (round of 32) defeated; 67-59 vs number 5 Tennessi (Sweet 16)
Tenasy pushed Texas, but Raksha once again transported to Longhorn, which secures eight appearances of the fourth aristocratic class of the program in five years since Vik Shefer Austin came to Austin. A Lady Vols team, which was third in the country in 86.6 points per game scoring, was held below 27.6 below its average. Shefar tuned his lineup to adjust to Tenasi’s frantic style and paid it. Rotation Regular Shay Hole and Kiela Oldkere played a total of 17 minutes, while Freshman Bryna Preston and Jordan Lee played above their average minutes and combined for 25 points. Preston played a season-high 27 minutes and became the key to Longhorn’s press break with his speed. This depth can pay dividends against a TCU team, which is very low because Longhorn tries to break for their first final four since 1987.

5. Tcu horn frog
Original seeds: Number 2 (Birmingham 3)
Tournament results: 73-51 vs. 15 FDU (first round); 85-70 vs. 7 Louisville (round of 32); 71-62 vs No 3 Notre Dame (Sweet 16)
The magical season of TCU continues, largely because the success of Haley Van Lith is in the postson role. Van was the best player in the court, playing on another team in one game with a potential three future top-five WNBA draft pics. Its 18 seconds for the game and 26 helped the horned frogs to eradicate the deficiency of nine points. TCU dominated the notre Dame defensively, especially in the second half when horny frogs blocked eight shots, including five by Sedona Prince. Irish had the lowest production of 62 points of the season. While this is the first elite class eight in TCU history, it is now the fifth for van lith with its third school. He is the first player in female and men’s college basketball in at least 25 years, appearing in the five regional finals.

6. LSU tigers
Original seeds: Number 3 (Spochen 1)
Tournament results: 103–48 vs. 14 San Diego State (first round); 101-71 vs. number 6 Florida State (Round of 32); 80-73 vs number 2 NC State (Sweet 16)
Mikayla Williams performed several major plays of Stretch (10 points in the final 4:09) and Anees Moro on Friday and dominated the whole (30 points, 19 rebounds), but the deep NCAA tournaments have often a player in the teams that score runs, which plays above its regular season value. He has been a player for Sa’Myah Smith Lsu. His second consecutive double-dabble (21 points, 11 rebounds) was a major boost against the state state, especially struggling through a three-point performance with Flaze Johnson. Smith, who equaled her career in scoring, is playing the best basketball of her career as she continues to return from the last season’s knee injury. He has become the LSU’s security blanket if a tiger has an unproductive night near Big Three, such as Johnson’s 1 to 8 shoots on Friday.

7. USC Trojan
Original seeds: Number 1 (Spochen)
Tournament opener: Number 16 defeated UNC Greensboro 71-25 (first round); Defeated number 9 Mississippi state 96-59 (round of 32); 67-61 vs No. 5 Cansus State (Sweet 16)
Two years ago, Lindsay Gotlib launched Juju Watkins as the number 1 recruitment in the country. Last year she brought to the top rated category. Watkins has changed the program. After facing a torn ACL in the second round with his star, it was time to bend on a group of new people. It is exactly that Trojan did his second consecutive elite to reach eight. Kennedy Smith gave the most important performance of his career with 19 points and outstanding defense. Classmates made 4-8-pointers and scored 18 points. Not only did the USC overcome the loss of Watkins, Freshmen also helped to take Senior Kiki Irifen, who created only 3 out of 13 shots to finish with 7 points (on an average 18.6 ppg).
next: Uconn (Monday, 9 PM ET, ESPN)
8. Duke Blue Devils
Original seeds: Number 2 (Birmingham 2)
Tournament results: 80-57 vs. 15 Leh (first round); 59-53 vs. 10 Oregon 59-53 (round of 32); 47-38 vs. 3 Northern Carolina (Sweet 16)
Blue Devils gave the first 11 points in the first four minutes, then gave 27 points in the next 36 minutes. This was another incredible performance by a team whose success is based on its defense. In this way Duke reached his first regional final since 2013. In the tournament, three opponents of Blue Devils scored 38.7 points per game and shot 29.8% from the ground. Only in 2010, Uconn and South Carolina’s 2022 teams allowed low points through three games. Both those teams won the National Championship. Duke has forced the 62 turnover and allowed nine 3-pointers in the NCAA tournament, but the crime can be as much as defense is destructive. Duke’s 47 points in winning on Northern Carolina tied up for the lowest in the NCAA tournament win, and Blue Devils are facing a South Carolina team that allows the third highest points of 100 wealth per 100 wealth in the country.
