WhatsApp is set to twist its voice recording feature in the upcoming updates, making users capable of recording voice messages with a tap to be very smooth and faster to use.
Some beta testers, who downloaded the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.13.10.70 update, which is available on the testflight app, can now experiment with a new way to record voice messages that significantly simplify the process, Webtanfo Informed
Currently, there are two ways to send voice messages to the popular meta-owned instant messaging app.
The first method involves pressing and holding the microphone button within a chat. As soon as the button is released, the voice message is sent automatically if it is recorded for at least one second.
The second method is designed for long recording in which users can press the microphone button and then slide their finger upwards to activate a lock mode. This feature allows users to continue to speak without the need to catch the button.
However, with the latest updates, WhatsApp united both these methods in the same experience, allowing users to start voice recording with only one tap.
In particular, the lock automatically becomes active as soon as the user taps the microphone button, eliminates the need to press the button during recording. Users no longer need to swipe to trigger the lock.
The new update activates the lock immediately as soon as tapped the microphone button, eliminates the requirement of any additional gestures and makes the entire voice message recording process significantly more liquid for users.
It will reduce friction in sending small but significant twist voice messages, making action smooth and more natural for all.
This change can save time and simplify daily communication.
It is worth noting that this new behavior may feel a bit unfamiliar to users who are used to keep or swipe the button. However, after using some time, most people will find it comfortable and efficient.
The new feature is available to some beta testers, which install the latest versions of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the Testflight App, and is rolling for more people in the coming weeks.
