The post, which was originally shared redditA new company gives details of a person’s disturbing experience, where he says that he was placed on a pip in just five months to be available to work during his approved leaves.
According to the post, the employee claimed that his manager had expected that he would be constantly available- even during his paid time which included weekends and leaves. When she refused, she would travel, things quickly went down. Allegedly, the manager rejected his refusal, replied with a sneezing comment: “I would like to see it.”
Soon after returning from his leaves, the employee noticed his manager’s attitude to him. Later that day, HR called with a shocking news that he was placed on the pipe due to “poor performance”.
In the same Reddit Post, the employee also shared more about the company’s culture. The organization has followed the six-day task week, his manager hopes that employees are expected to work for 5-6 hours on Sunday as well. “We are constantly chasing the unrealistic time limit,” he said.
He further questioned, “Is this also legal? Can companies really do so? Do employees have no protection from such toxic treatment?”
His post quickly picked up online traction, and many Neutzens expressed their mistrust, called treatment “inappropriate” and “derogatory”. “Everything -your performance reviews, targets and response. And start looking for a better job asap.” While another said, “This is why people go abroad. At least the managers do not question your right to unload your time.”
