Because when I was growing up, my family progressed so much – before nine cities and perhaps before going to college – I never associated the idea of home with a physical place. Instead, I thought of details, rooms, pieces of furniture, diagonally, from many houses and apartments, which were occupying for years: features and moments that came to stand for a sense of inertia.
Six very different family residences.
– Carl and Karin Larsen’s exaggeration in Sweden, home filled with art.
– Funny familiar Venice apartment of an art dealer.
– A mountain complex in Brazil where a large family found a way to live together and separate.
– Is it architecture or is it art? The couple of Paris celebrate in the middle.
– A family re -prepared beach in the Philippines.
– Cinematic East Village Apartments of Brandon Flyn and Jordan Tanhil.
Over the years, I wanted me to know a house, a single residence in which decades of celebrations, quarrels, debates and conversations could be revealed. Then I grew up and saw that friends faced the sale or destruction of their family homes; They understood that they were not mourning the loss of structure as much as he represented it, but that knowledge did not make it easy. Home – Home – Provides set for all theaters of our life; Without one, we are independent, but also precious.
As a result, a century after Larsen’s death is a house that maintains its art, furniture and soul too much, while also adjusts blessings and additions from later generations. All this is keeping in mind the original vision of Larsen; With their dark brown furniture and neo-renovation ornamentation, whatever the tedium of the bourgeois design of this period will be a place free from obstacles. His house will be a celebration of folk art, craft, color and cozine. Not one house, in other words – but a house.
