Fourteen years old Splendor Made history by becoming the youngest Centurion of IPL, scored a great 101 off 38 balls for Rajasthan Royals Gujarat Titans On Monday. The young left -arm innings, including 11 sixes and seven fours, helped win eight wickets for their team against international bowlers.
Suryavanshi’s explosive innings came against the established bowlers including Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Siraj, Prasad Krishna, Washington Sundar, Rashid Khan and Karim Jana.
Rajasthan Royals praised the teenager’s performance, highlighting his ability to Indian cricket.
Rathore said in the press conference after the match, “We have been looking at it for the last few months, we knew what he is capable of doing and what shots he can play but such a crowd and such a situation really against a good bowling attack, it was really special and a lot of credit for him.”
“He is a special talent and if he goes into technology then he has become very good and this helps him to generate such power and today he showed everyone how good he is.”
Rathore revealed that he discovered Suryavanshi Four months ago during the tests and immediately recognized its extraordinary talent.
“A 14 -year -old child definitely makes him special to play like this. We first saw him four months ago when he came for tests and from the day we knew that we had found something special and it was to nourish us and bring him to this level.”
The batting coach emphasized the mental strength and ability of Suryavanshi for a long career in Indian cricket.
“He gives him a lot of credit that he kept his veins. He has a solid head on his shoulders, he showed great nature today. Even the couple of sports also showed earlier what he is capable of doing and today was an additional simple innings.”
“Extraordinary knock, magnificent knock. The kind of power she produces, the kind of situation she gets, cleanly hits the ball. Everything is special about that child and if she is going and keeps working hard, she is going to have a long, long career in Indian cricket.”
Rathore compared Suryavanshi to cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who made his India debut at the age of 16.
The former India coach said, “This is very early and it is to be compared to the child to Sachin Tendulkar. He is a special child and he is a special talent.”
Regarding the playoff opportunities of Rajasthan Royals, Rathore expressed optimism about winning his remaining four matches.
“Every season is important, but it is also a long-term vision. We chose a young team and looking at the way we played today, I think we have a special team. We still have four games and if we win all, yet I am not sure if we are in a position to qualify, but 14 points can sometimes be found in the play-off.
Titans Batter Sai Reformson of Gujarat reflected his team’s strategy and accepted Suryavanshi’s remarkable performance.
“No credit taken away from Vaibhav was the way he batted was tremendous and was fantastic to see, but at the same time we could react well. The way he started the powerplay was fantastic, but we could keep better plans. When we could finish we could have equal it or we could be above 10 runs.
