Each week, SpaceX launched satellites to build its growing constellation of Starlink satellites. It provides broadband internet service to users on the ground.
But Starlink satellite are only part of the equation. Starlink users also need to place their hands on one of the satellite internet kits of Spacex to enable them to connect them from anywhere with a good view of the sky.
Spacex recently Posted a video The X which offers a glimpse on how these kits are made in the company’s factory outside Austin, Texas. The video shows some close-ups of the factory floor, where machines manufacture components for standard starlink kits that look like automated sections of the assembly line.
John Federspil, senior director of Starlink Product Engineering, said in the video, “Raw comes in plastic pellets, raw aluminum, and we make them in starlink kits, and then send them to customers’ homes.” “Right now, we are producing 15,000 days directly from the factory.”
The company also notes that the factory is less than two years old, and at that time, it has gone to produce more than 70,000 kits per week, providing employment to more than 1,000 workers.
Located in the Bastrop community, about 30 miles east of Austin, the video also gave a description of a plan to ramp production in Starlink’s factory, which the company is currently expanding.
“We are going to add more than a million square feet manufacturing space during this year, and allow us to continue more information about our construction procedures,” said Alexandra Noae, senior director of Starlink Production, said in the video.
