In an assessment of the seventh defeat of the IPL 2025 season against the Sunrisers Hyderabad of Chennai’s Super Kings, Virender Sehwag did not slip the words on Friday as he tore in the roles of Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curan in the top-order during the loss of five-cickets.
Batting with a rigged line-up at its first Chepack Home Ground, CSK failed to put out on another big score, leaving for 154. CSK tried to exclude Curan at three o’clock, before Jadeja again went to number four. While Curan was rejected for 9 runs off 10 balls, Jadeja failed to switch the gear, fell on 21 runs for 17 runs.
“Was I not saying that I feel that the tournament is going to the middle of the house. CSK batsmen are probably thinking in this way. Their batsmen are thinking when they will return home? When will the tournament end? At least one of them should have taken responsibility.
During his 249 matches IPL career, Jadeja’s batting strike rate is a shadow below 130. His returns this season scored 166 runs in nine matches at 125.76 strike rates.
Sehwag also questioned the role of Curan in three in this set-up, especially when CSK raised explosive hands in Developed Brevis and Shivam Dubey.
“I can’t understand what Sam Curan is doing at number 3 in this line-up. He has played an order to ensure that he has batted at number 4 in ILT20, and he has played that role wisely. But, in this line-up, when you have a bravis, he has to play at number 3. Then he can come in Ruta, Samman, and Gaik Hud.” Said.
