Panama City: American troops will be allowed to use a series of military bases with the Panama Canal for training and other operations under a new agreement between Washington and Panama, one step was seen to re -acquire President Donald Trump’s strategic waterway.

The agreement signed by the top security officers of the two countries allows American military personnel to deploy the Panama-controlled facilities for training, practice and “other activities”.

The deal is reduced by allowing the United States to construct its own permanent bases at the Isthus, a step that would be deeply unpopular with the Panama and legally frightening.

However, it gives the United States widespread rights to deploy an unspecified number of personnel on base – some of which Washington captured the canal area decades ago.

Since returning to power in January, Trump has repeatedly claimed that China has a great impact on the canal, which handles about 40 percent of the US container traffic and five percent of global trade.

His administration has promised “withdrawing” the control of strategic waterways, which was funded, manufactured and controlled by the United States until 1999.

The United States has long participated in military exercises in Panama.

However, a long-term rotational power-colored state can prove to be a politically toxic for Jose Raul Mulino, the center-right leader of the same-manner in Australia.

    ‘Country on fire’

Mulino was in Peru on Thursday, where he revealed that the United States had asked for its own bases.

Mulino said that he visited Pentagon head Pete Hegseth, saying that American bases were allowed under the earlier draft, “unacceptable”.

He warned Hegseth: “Do you want to make a mess? Whatever we have kept here will set the country on fire.”

On Wednesday, Panama obtained his concessions in the “Memorandum of Understanding” signed by Hegseth and Panama’s security head Frank ábrego.

The United States recognized Panama’s sovereignty – not after refusing to refuse Trump’s attack – and Panama will maintain control of any installation.

Panama will also need to approve any deployment.

But seeing Trump’s desire to tear or write the business deals, treaties and agreements, which can give some rest to anxious Panamanis.

The country has a long and complex relationship with the United States.

They share close cultural and economic relations, despite the canal zone and the decades-American occupation of the American invasion to overthrow the dictator Manuel Noriega.

The invasion killed more than 500 Panamanians and the capital parts.

Trump’s pledge to recover the canal, and his claim of Chinese influence gave rise to mass demonstrations.

By law, Panama operates the canal with open access to all countries.

However, the US President has reduced the role of a Hong Kong company, which has operated the ports at both ends of the canal – by adding the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans – for decades.

Under the pressure of the White House, Panama has accused the Panama Ports Company of failing to fulfill its contractual obligations and pushed the firm to withdraw from the country.

The original company of the Ports, CK Hachison, announced a deal to close 43 ports in 23 countries last month – which included two of its two on the Panama Canal – in a consortium under the leadership of American asset manager Blackrock in 19 billion dollars cash in cash.

An angry Beijing has since announced a no -confidence review of the deal.
