Anti-terrorism, the cooperation of the United States-Pakistan on terrorism is important, the State Department spokesman Tami Bruce on Thursday said after the arrest of Dash-K terrorist Sharifullah.
Sharifullah- The US says that it also goes under the name Jafar and Daesh-K is detained by Pakistani authorities and extradited to the United States.
Bruce said during his press briefing in Washington, “We thank the Government of Pakistan for his partnership in bringing justice to Mohammad Sharifullah.”
A spokesman for the State Department mentioned that the United States and Pakistan have a common interest in fighting terrorism.
The spokesperson said, “and the arrest of this terrorist also stated that US-Pakistan cooperation on anti-terrorism is strange,” the spokesperson said.
The Daesh operative allegedly helped in the 2021 suicide bombing outside the Kabul Airport during the US military return from Afghanistan.
The Department of Justice said that Sharifullah confessed to taking out the route to the airport, where the suicide attacker later exploded his equipment among the packed crowd, when the Taliban tried to run away a few days after seizing Kabul’s control, said the Department of Justice said.
The explosion at the Abe Gate killed 13 US troops along with at least 170 Afghans, securing the circumference of the airport.
Sharifullah has already appeared in a court in Alexandria. He did not enter a petition. Their next appearance will be in the same courtyard on Monday, and he will remain in custody till then.
President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced his arrest in a address to the Congress, calling him “the top terrorists responsible for that atrocities”, while thanking Pakistan for catching him.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif thanked Trump for accepting the role of the country in anti-terrorism efforts in Afghanistan, and promised to “continue the partner in association with the United States” in a post on X.
‘Important intelligence shared with Pakistan’
According to the affidavit of the Department of Justice in the case, Daesh-K terrorists gave Sharifullah a cellphone and a SIM card and asked him to investigate the route to the airport.
When he gave it all-a-confession, he asked him to leave the area, said this.
The affidavit states, “Later on the same day, Sharifullah learned about the attack in the HKIA mentioned above and recognized the alleged bombers as a (dash) -K operative, which he knew while disorganizing,” the affidavit said.
Sharifullah is “accused of providing a conspiracy to provide physical assistance and resources to a specified foreign terrorist organization, resulting in a resulting death.”
In a strong partnership demonstration between the two countries, the news reported, the Trump administration shared important intelligence with Pakistani authorities, in which Karolin Lewet, a spokesman of the White House, facilitated Sharifullah’s confession.
In particular, Sharifullah accepted the crime in front of Pakistani officials, exposing the associate nature of the investigation.
