Dana White, president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), said he did not expect a punishment after a video emerges in a physical change with his wife earlier this month. White commented on a media day for UFC Fight Night 217 on Wednesday.
Asked if they hope that the company will have results, White said: “What should be the result? you tell me. I take 30 days off? How do I get hurt?
“Leaving me hurt the company, hurts my employees, hurts the fighters. It does not hurt me.
“What is my punishment?” Here is my punishment: I have to roam for a long time, but I live… and that is how I have been labeled now.
“The punishment is that I have done this, and now I have to deal with it.”
In the video obtained by TMZ, White and his wife, Anne, on the eve of New Year, Kbo San Lucas is seen to argue before exchange of slaps at a nightclub in Mexico. Neither white nor his wife is facing legal allegations on the incident.
White claims that the conversation between itself, Endeavor CEO and the owner of the UFC took place between Ery Emanuel, and Broadcaster ESPN, which was appropriate.
“We have held a lot of discussions internally with ARI, not with ESPN-no one with ESPN-” said 53-year-old. “No one is happy about this. Neither me But this happened. ,
White also said that he was not making excuses for his behavior and reiterated his stand on domestic violence.
“There is never an excuse … there is no rescue for this and people should not defend me on this thing, no matter what.”
On Monday, California Assembly Women Cocks wrote an open letter to Imanuel and called Endeavor to replace White as UFC president.
“Looking at Mr. White’s previous comments against domestic companions violence, we believed that the effort and UFC shared this commitment for security, respect and accountability.”
“And yet, we have watched a video of UFC President Dana White, where he kills his wife in celebration on the eve of New Year … We were frightening. It was worrying to say at least. In the days after the video is released, you are silent.
“We are calling for immediate removal of Mr. White as the President of UFC.”
CNN arrived out to try to comment, but found no response immediately.
When contacted for the comment, ESPN made only a small statement that said: “We are covering the story on our platforms because it broke and will continue to do so.”
