Turkish content manufacturer Turkan Ata has publicly accused the famous Pakistani fashion designer Maria B of failure to fully compensate for a brand shoot in Turkey earlier this year.
Atay, who has more than 850,000 followers on Instagram and makes Urdu-language content, claimed that in 2025 he was contacted by Maria B’s team to manage a place shoot in Turkey.
He said that the agreement included a fee per organization to cover local production costs.
Despite completing the project, ATAY said it had received only partial payment. He alleged that the brand later disputed the agreement, stating that the payment was not usually per social media reel and a copy of the organization.
“It’s three months,” Atay said in a video message. “They have wasted my time, dodged full payments, and behave me unofficially.”
She also accused the designer’s team of removing pre -communication after trying to mediate her husband.
This is not the first time Maria B has given rise to controversies related to Turkey.
In August last year, she was entangled in a literary theft scam after the launch of her “Palestine Collection”.
The line included T-shirts and lawn outfits, including symbolic Palestinian imagery such as kifaheh, watermelon motif and national flags.
However, as a gesture of solidarity, the collection quickly withdrawn to the alleged exploitation of a humanitarian crisis for commercial benefits.
The situation increased when artist Leena Ghani accused Maria B of copying a specific design.
Artwork in the question – Palestine, except for a child and olive branches map – was originally created by Turkish artist Hasi Balina Atoli and the Instagram page appeared on Palestine Quebec.
As criticism, Maria B replied via Instagram, accepting that the design was used “unknowingly” and cited a inspection due to the rapid speed of digital material circulation.
