Washington: US President Donald Trump on Sunday threatened Iran with bomb blasts and secondary tariffs whether Tehran did not come on an agreement with Washington at his nuclear program.
In a telephone interview with NBC News, Trump said that the US and Iranian officials were talking but were not detailed.
“If they do not make a deal, there will be bombing,” said Trump. “But there is a chance that if they do not make any deal, I will do secondary tariff on them as I did four years ago.”
In his first 2017-21 tenure, Trump withdrew to the US from the 2015 deal between Iran and the world powers, which put strict boundaries on Tehran’s disputed nuclear activities in exchange for restrictions.
Trump also reiterated US sanctions. Since then the Islamic Republic has crossed the agreed limits in its growing program of uranium enrichment.
Tehran has so far warned Trump to make a deal or face military results.
Iran sent a response to Trump’s letter through Oman in which he urged Tehran to reach a new nuclear deal, Irani Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi was asked by the officer. IRNA News agency on Thursday.
Western powers accuse Iran of being a Clandstine Agenda, so that nuclear weapons can be developed by enriching uranium up to high level of fee purity, above which is appropriate for a civil nuclear power program.
Tehran says that its nuclear program is fully for civil energy purposes.
