This is a sad day for Tobeller’s fans – the 360g dark chocolate bar of the Swiss chocolate brand has been closed.
A spokesperson of the US firm Mondeles announced that it would pull bars from shops after 56 years, accepting the news “may be disappointing for some consumers”.
Failing to give a reason for the decision, he assured the shopkeepers that it would “continue to invest in Tobelron”.
This news comes after months of confusion around the bar of bar in shops.
Many customers raised their concerns on X/Twitter, asked with one: “Is anyone knowing anywhere in the UK that I can get dark toolon once.
At the time of writing, it is believed that the dark chocolate bar will be scored only in the UK.
In 2023, Tobelron announced that it would remove the Matterhorn Mountain Peak from its packaging due to the strict Swiss marketing rules.
When some of the chocolate production moved from Switzerland to Slovakia, the confectionery treatment was to avoid the restrictions around “Swissness”, which prevents national symbols from using to promote products that are not specially made in the country.
The US firm Mondeles replaced the image of the 4,478-meter-high (14,690 ft) mountain, with a general summit with the borders of Switzerland and Italy.
Tobelron, a honey and almond nugat chocolate bar, was designated by a combination of its inventor, theodore toobr, and the toron, a toast-almond naugat conferencing.

It first went on sale in 1908 in Burn in the capital of Switzerland.
The “Swissness” law introduced in 2017 states that national symbols cannot be used to promote milk-based products that are not specially created in Switzerland. For other raw foods, the threshold is at least 80 percent.
Studies have shown that some of the products branded as “manufactured in Switzerland” are sold 20 percent more than the same accessories than other origins.
