Toyota unveiled just a new concept that can completely change how people get around cities, potential implications for cities worldwide, including in the US
FT-me, a compact electric quadricial, is designed to deal with the challenges of living in the city, offering an accessible and environmentally friendly transport solution.
Initially focused on Europe, this innovative vehicle addresses relevant universal urban issues for metropolitan areas, showing a mixture of stability, access and practicality that can inspire similar solutions here in the US and other places.
A compact space saver
Ft-meter is a true space-cover, which measures less than 98.4 inches in length. This small footprint allows it to occupy only half the standard parking space or one-third when parked vertically. Despite its small size, FT-meter does not compromise on functionality. It has a two-seater layout with a removable passenger seat for additional cargo space, 360-degree visibility for easy maneuver and hand control for accessibility, which is suitable for wheelchair users. The concept vehicle weighs only 937 pounds.
What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?
The Toyota FT-ME is classified as a quadricycle due to its mild design and limited power generation, aligning with European regulatory norms for such vehicles. Despite its car -like appearance, it is designed for urban dynamics, which focuses on efficiency and compactness rather than strong security features and performance of a traditional car.

Environmentally friendly and efficient
Toyota’s commitment to stability is evident in the design of the feet. This concept shows an all-electric powertrain with a range of at least 62 miles. The roof of a solar panel can add a range of 12โ19 miles per day, which can eliminate the requirement of daily charging in urban settings. The FT-Me concept uses recycled materials and aims to a 90% decrease in carbon footprints than traditional urban vehicles.

Vehicle access facilities
One of the most complicated aspects of the ft-meter concept is its access. It is qualified as a “Voice Sansa Sansa peris” in France, which will allow drivers as a young man of 14, who to operate it without a full license. The concept has a top speed of 28 mph, which makes it suitable for urban environment.
