At an age when most people slow down, the mike is still running, pull-up, and paddling a canoe-and he believes that she is thankful to what she eats.

A cancer diagnosis that changed everything

At the age of 69, Mike received a life -conversion diagnosis – cancer. The doctors gave him only three months to live. Instead of giving inside, they controlled. Mike has a book, a book that introduced a macrobiotic diet, is a book, which is a way of eating, which emphasizes the whole, plant-based foods contained in ancient Japanese traditions.
It was not just a diet switch; It was a total lifestyle change. Within months, Mike not only saw her cancer symptoms missing, but also reduced her arthritis. And now, decades later, at 102, he continues.

Plant-based diet: Are you ready to make switch?

    A simple, plant-based diet

Mike’s daily food is not fancy, but they are deeply nutritious. He focuses on the whole, impossible foods and avoids sugar, processed meat and dairy. Their food is usually prepared:

    • Brown rice
    • Boiled vegetables like carrots, kels and cabbage
    • Sea algae for trace minerals
    • Legumes, especially half of beans every day

Studies support their choice. According to the World Cancer Research Fund, high diet in legumes and vegetables helps reduce the risk of cancer and support better immune function.

    Exercise 2

    Movement as a daily habit

Even at 102, Mike still does not sit. He runs, does a canoe, and even a bridge-up, which is rare at any age. Being physically active is a non-pervantic part of their routine.
CDC suggests that regular movement – especially strength and cardio practice – can support slow biological aging, improve joint health and support brain function. Mike’s active life is a living example of this research in action.

Not for chemicals and yes for simplicity

Mike not only avoids unhealthy food, but anything is highly processed. He selects clearly about organic yield, drink filtered water, and chemical additives and preservatives.
Their cooking is minimal-staming, boiling and fermentation are their go-two. It aligns with the study of Harvard School of Public Health, which suggests that cooking methods can affect the nutritional value of food. Simple preparation preserves nutrients and avoids harmful compounds formed during frying or grilling.

    A deep relationship with nature

Beyond food and exercise, Mike credits his welfare to suit nature. He spends time out, enhances his own food, and maintains a routine that follows the natural rhythm of the day.
This type of lifestyle has roots in the Japanese macrobiotic philosophy, which focuses on the balance between nature and the body, between Yin and Yang. Modern research suggests that exposure to natural light, fresh air and soil microbes helps to regulate mood, sleep and immunity.

Fuel life by discipline, not doctors

Mike does not rely on medications or persistent doctor’s visit. They believe that food is their medicine. “Cancer is gone. I did this, not doctors,” he says with confidence.
Experts agree that lifestyle plays an important role in health results. A review published in Lancet Oncology found that more than 30–50% of cancer cases are prevented through diet, exercise and avoiding environmental toxins.
Mike’s journey is proof of what can achieve a consistent, brain life. It is not about trends or miracles – it’s about commitment to the basics: real food, daily movement, and
