The South Indian breakfast options offer treasures of diversity. Alcoholic Idlis, Crispy Dosa, Kurakure Wadas, Soft Upams – Flavorful list continues. But have you ever tried Podi Idli? If you are a spice-lover, the dish should be in your bucket list. Podi Idlis are usually much smaller in size compared to regular idlis. They are coated with a special spice-infected dal masala, known as Podi Masala. Recently, a material manufacturer shared a video on Instagram, showing the preparation of Lave Podi Idli at a cafe in Chennai.
The video opens in a bowl to put sufficient amount of podi masala on the cook. Subsequently, he adds a generous amount of ghee to it. After that, the cook mixes two ingredients well with a spoon. Soon, a thick gravy results in cone results. The cook then immerses a soft idli into a pod-ghee mixture. Voila! Lava Podi Idli is ready. The dish is then served with Sambar dal, and the content creator dripping it on top of the Idlis.
It was read in the side note, “Trending lava podi idli. Idlis drowned in Chennai for the first time in Podi and Ghee.”
