The San Antonio Spider Star Victor Vembanyama is expected to remember the rest of the regular season of 2024-2025, which is due to blood clots in his right shoulder, the team announced on Thursday. The team said in a statement that the All-Star Center has come to know about deep vein thrombosis in the shoulder.
Vambanyama’s condition was discovered after attending the all-star game in San Francisco in this weekend when he returned to San Antonio.
The team did not provide a specific timeline, just saying that Vambanyama is “expected to remember” in the rest of the regular season. Deep vein thrombosis usually occurs in the feet, but can affect other parts of the body. Sources told ESPN that the spurs feel that the position of Vambanyama is isolated and is expected to be completely cured before the next season.
Vambanyama’s first all-star appearance was marked since reached the league last season in the previous weekend. The 21 -year -old was a major first season in the sensation, which raised Ruki of the Year and led the league in the block.
In this season, Vambanyama has also contributed 24.3 points per game and 11 rebounds, while 3.8 blocks and 1.1 stolen per game at the defensive end. He leads the NBA in the block with 176.
The spurs currently sit at 12th position with 23–29 records at the Western Conference, a 31/2 game of Golden State Warriors and a berth in the play-in game. Apart from its first round pick, the spurs also caught the unsafe first-rounder of Atlanta Hawks in the 2025 NBA draft.
