A SpaceX capsule on Sunday distributed four astronauts at the International Space Station at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) crew-swap mission, which will allow a pair of stuck astronauts, Buch Wilmore and Sun. Williams to return home after nine months after nine months.
Nearly 29 hours after the ET launch from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 7:03 pm on Friday, SpaceX Crew Dragon Capsule of Crew -10 Astronauts docked the ISS on ET at 12:04 pm on Sunday.
He was welcomed by the station’s seven -consumer crew, including Wilmore and Williams – experienced NASA astronaut and retired naval test pilot that remains at the station after problems with Boeing’s Starelineer Capsules, forced NASA to evacuate it back.
Otherwise a regular crew is a long -awaited first step to bring rotation flight, crew -10 mission Wilmore and Williams back to Earth -Part of a plan fixed by NASA has been given more urgency since President Donald Trump took over in January.
Wilmore and Williams are scheduled to depart the ISS along with NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Russian Cosmonott Alexandra Gorbunov on Wednesday.
Hague and Gorbunov flew to ISS on a dragon craft of a crew in September and with two vacant seats for Wilmore and Williams, and that craft is connected to the station.
The crew -10 crew, scheduled to stay at the station for about six months, includes NASA astronaut Anne McClen and Nicole Aires, Japanese astronaut Takua Onishi and Russian Cosmonott Kiril Peskov.
Crew -swap mission got entangled in politics as Trump and his advisor Elon Musk, who is also the CEO of SpaceX, urged a fast crew -10 launch. He claimed, without proof, that Biden, the anterior to Trump, left Wilmor and Williams at the station for political reasons.
After seeing its mission in a normal NASA rotation for ISS, Wilmor and Williams are doing scientific research and regular maintenance with other five astronauts.
Williams told reporters this month that he was eager to return home to see two of his dogs and family. “This has been a roller coaster for him, perhaps a little more for us,” he said.
