Karachi: A composed by Shadab Khan after a clinical bowling display united Islamabad, who on Sunday to win a major six wicket win over Karachi Kings in the 10th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 at the National Bank Stadium.
Chasing a minor 129-run target, United comfortably reached the finish line with 17 balls and six wickets in hand.
He landed for a fast start with Sahabzada Farhan and Azam Khan opening the innings. The pair added 34 runs before Hasan Ali was dismissed by Hasan Ali after a fierce 30 including only 18 balls and a six.
Hasan again hit in the same over, removed Colin Munro for a run-e-ball 4, which left United at 38/2 in the fifth over.
Skipper Shadab Khan then joined Azam Khan at the crease, and the two kept the innings continuously with a stand of 65 runs. His partnership laid the foundation for a comfortable chase, before Mohammad Nabi dropped Azam in the 14th over.
Azam contributed a stable 31 in 31 balls out of 30 balls, with three boundaries and a six, with United scored just 26 runs with a win, which he eventually achieved easily.
On the other hand, Shadab ended with an agony for his match winning knock, as he was rejected by Abbas Afridi in the 17th over when United needed only one run.
He remained the top scorer for United with 47 runs of 40 delivery for United, which were studs with five fours and two sixes.
The decisive run was eventually scored at the first delivery of the 18th over by Mohammad Nawaz, who remained unbeaten with eight runs off 12 balls.
Veteran Peser Hasan Ali was once again a standout bowler for the Kings, as he took two wickets for just 28 runs in his four overs, while the prophet pasted with a skull.
Earlier, United bowlers gave a clinical performance to limit the Karachi Kings down-on-two to 128/7.
Karachi Kings made an unstable start, as they lost Captain David Warner (3) and In-Form Batter James Wins (4) within the first four overs, scoring just 22 runs on the board.
Emerging wicketkeeper-Bahatar Saad Baig then included in an attempt to stabilize the innings in Tim Safart. The pair added 39 runs for the third wicket, playing carefully against the disciplined attack of United.
His brief resistance was broken in the 10th over when Shadab Khan removed Beg for 20 runs off 20 balls with four borders.
Sefeert could not catch either for a long time, in the 13th over, Emd departed after a dull 30 off 37 balls at Wasim, including only one border.
United maintained pressure, as Shadab dismissed Mohammad Irfan Khan (8 to 8) in the 16th over, followed by Nasim Shah’s short delivery, which was Khushadil Shah (17 runs 23) in the next.
Jason Holder, the current tournament’s leading wicket -taking, then removed Aamir Jamal with a sharp bouncer in the 18th over, struggling at Kings 102/7.
Abbas Afridi then included a total of 128/7 of the Kings with just nine delivery with a quick 24-rran cameo.
For United, Naseem, Shadab and Holder posed the way with two wickets, while Imad Wasim pasted with a skull.
Earlier, Islamabad United won the toss and decided to bowl first against Karachi Kings.
Islamabad remains the only unbeaten side in the United PSL 10, with three commanding win on the table. Defending champions are riding a wave of form and confidence as they see to expand their streak.
On the other hand, Karachi Kings have scored a mixed run – opening with a win, stumbling in his second game, and quetta is jumping back with a major win over Gladiators.
Islamabad has dominated this rivalry, winning the last five encounters. Karachi, supported by the crowd of his home, will aim to break zinc and turn the tide.
