Massachusetts Amharst University said on Friday that five international students enrolled in the school have canceled their visas by the US immigration and customs enforcement (ICE).
“During this week and tonight, the university has canceled their visas to five international students and abolished the student status by the federal government,” Umis Chancellor Javier Reece said in a letter posted on the university website.
“I have regretted sending this news for so long on Friday; Given that we learned about some of these revival this evening, I found it important to share this disturbing news at this time.”

Reece said that the university was not informed about the changes in the students’ visas, “and only the students of immigration and customs enforcement became aware of the active inquiry into the database. We would continue to monitor Sevis for further updates.”
UMASS is the largest in the public university system of Emrapp state.

Earlier this week, the chairman of Minnesota State University in Mankato said that the visa was canceled by five international students at the university.
The school president, Edward Inch said that the school was detected after running a database check of international student status after a Turkish student’s custody at Minnesota University in Minianpolis on a driving sentence.
Other colleges across the country, including Arizona State, Cornell, North Carolina State, Oregan University, Texas University and Colorado University, have also reported the cancellation of international student visas without information.

State Secretary Marco Rubio said that last week, students are being targeted to join the protests with others associated with “potential criminal activity”.
Earlier last month, Columbia student Mahmud Khalil was arrested for his anti -Israeli protests and being involved in the alleged support of Hamas.

And at the end of March, an Iranian doctoral student at Alabama University, whose visa was canceled in 2023, was arrested in the middle of the night.
Although his visa was canceled, he was told that he could live in America, while he remained a student, his lawyer said.

The Homeland Security Department said that the student, Alirza Doraudi “presented the important national security concerns”.
Last month, Rumca Ojturk, a Turkish Ph.D. The student was arrested by immigration officials at the University of Massachusetts after writing anti-Israel for the Campus newspaper.
