Texas Department of State Health Services said that children without any school-class, who had no underlying health status, died on Thursday with measles pulmonary failure in the hospital.
“The child was receiving treatment for measles complications during hospitalization,” said Aaron Davis, a spokesman at UMC Health System at Lubock, Texas.
This is the second death of a child in Texas as the measles outbreak began in the Ganes County at the end of January, where the vaccination rate is about 82%, below 95% is considered protective for those who cannot be vaccinated.
When asked about measles death, US President Donald Trump told reporters on Air Force one that if the outbreak moves forward, his administration would have to “take action very strongly”.
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior identified the child as 8 -year -old Daisy Hildebrand, and said he visited Texas on Sunday to rest the family.
Kennedy, an anti-vaccine lawyer, who announced that vaccination is a personal choice, stated that on Sunday there are the best security against vaccine measles.
He said, “The most effective way to prevent the spread of measles is MMR vaccine,” he said in the post on X. He said that there were 642 confirmed cases of measles on Sunday, 499 in Texas.
Kennedy has also recommended vitamin A earlier as measles treatment, with good nutrition. While vitamin A is shown to reduce the severity of symptoms in some studies in developing countries, it can lead to high amounts of liver toxicity.
Republican American Senator Bill Cassidi, a physician who presided over the Senate Health Committee, wrote on X after the child’s death: “All should be vaccinated.”
Cassidi wrote on X, “Top health authorities should so unequal to B/4 that another child dies.”
Cassidi supported Kennedy’s confirmation when Kennedy promised not to change the vaccine oversight.
The measles vaccine is 97% effective after two shots.
He said that the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have been re -prepared in Texas at the request of the state Governor Greg Abbott.
On its website, the CDC says that the vaccine is “the best protection against measles”, which spreads through the air when an infected person sneezes or coughs.
Kennedy’s hearing was postponed
Cassidi called Kennedy to appear before the Senate Health Committee on 10 April last week, discussing the reorganization of the US Health Department, which was being closed to 10,000 people, including food and drug administration and disease control and prevention centers.
But on Friday, a committee official said that the hearing will not be held on April 10 as the seven -day notice was not given by the committee process as per the requirement. No date has been set.
Texas Department of State Health Services reported a total of 15% jump in three days in 59 new measles cases on Friday, from the end of January for a total of 481 in the state.
The outbreak of the related measles has been reported in other states including New Mexico and Oklahoma. In addition, an unnatural New Mexico adult conducted a positive test for measles after dying in March.
Till Thursday, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported a weekly nationwide growth of 124 measles cases, causing a total of 607 so far this year. This is compared to a nationwide clan in 2024 in 285 reported cases.
CDC officials said that 97% are unnatural in American cases or have an unknown vaccination situation.
Pediatricians and other doctors are pushing back against the vaccine hesitating and warning parents that the vaccine vitamin A and other supplements collided by critics will not protect their children from highly infectious and potentially fatal disease.
