Jeddah: The Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah has announced that meningitis vaccine will be mandatory for all the participants of the Haj 2025 pilgrimage.
According to the ministry, this important decision is for the protection of the health of millions of pilgrims and applies to both Saudi citizens and foreign nationals.
The Ministry has emphasized that vaccination is a non-perfect requirement for HAJJ participation to ensure widespread safety against potential life-drew.
“Haj will not be allowed without vaccination,” a ministry spokesman stated, highlighting the severity of measurement.
The ministry said, “Stopping the spread of infectious diseases during Haj has become an hour’s requirement.”
In addition, the registration process for HAJ packages would be accidental on evidence of vaccination, effectively it would be impossible to move forward without it.
This decision comes as part of the ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of infectious diseases during the annual pilgrimage, attracting millions of people around the world.
The proximity of pilgrims in limited places makes them particularly unsafe for outbreaks.
