In an address -filled address, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday thanked President Donald Trump for his efforts to end enmity in Ukraine, but he said that he wanted more peace than a 30 -day ceasefire.
“The idea itself is correct, and we definitely support it,” Putin said in a careful word message during a news conference in Moscow. “But there are issues we need to discuss, and I think we need to discuss it with our American colleagues and partners.”
Putin said, “We agree with the proposals to stop the fight, but we move beyond the notion that the ceasefire should lead to permanent peace and remove the root causes of the crisis.”

Putin was careful that the 30-day ceasefire deal with Ukraine earlier this week was not directly stated, but he also suggested that a lot of variables should be discussed, such as what happens to Ukrainian soldiers in Russia’s Kursk region, which he said that he would be completely surrounded in the coming days.
The Kremlin chief also claimed that a ceasefire would only benefit Ukraine as it would allow the kiev to raise and re -create.
“In these situations, I believe it would be good for the Ukrainian side to secure a ceasefire for at least 30 days,” Putin said.
The Russian President’s comments resonated the people released by their top ally that day when Yuri Ushakov told a Russian reporter, “Our situation is that it is nothing but temporary breathing space for Ukrainian forces and nothing else.”
“We believe that our goal is a long-term peaceful generalization-we are trying for it,” he said. “Our concerns are known. Anyone needs such steps that mimic peaceful tasks in this situation.”
In Saudi Arabia last month, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and State Secretary Marco Rubio said, Ushakov said that Putin would eventually address the position of Moscow on the ceasefire during a press conference on Thursday.
Ushakov said he spoke with Waltz and special envoy Steve Witcoff entered Moscow to discuss the agreement.

On Thursday, reports suggested that Russia carried forward its wishlist item to end the fight, but they remain unconfirmed. Previous demands include preventing Ukraine from joining NATO and controlling five Ukrainian regions that have been illegally seized – out of which only one Russia lives completely.
Ukraine agreed to the 30-day ceasefire after a one-hour long meeting with Waltz and Rubio in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, depending on the acceptance of the terms of the Kremlin.
The ceasefire was an attempt to both sides to lay their arms so that further conversations on issues such as the region, business status, return of prisoners and the return of Ukrainian children kidnapped could be out.
The State Department did not immediately answer the questions of Fox News Digital.

Zelancesi said that Putin silenced the ceasefire proposal in such a way that “once again displayed that Russia tries to prolong the war and postpone peace as long as possible.”
“We hope the US pressure would be enough to force Russia to end the war,” he said.
