New Delhi: Lucknow Super Giants Skipper Rishabh Pant is keeping it simple as he looks to remove a lean patch with the bat – spend time in between and follow the run.
Pant, signed for a record of Rs 27 crore, has scored just 40 runs in six matches in this IPL season. However, on Saturday’s six wickets win Gujarat Titans At the Ekna Stadium, Pant showed encouraging signs, scoring 21 runs in 18 balls with four borders. Promoted to open the innings in the absence of Mitchell Marsh, people of left hand appeared fluent before Prasad Krishna fell.

“I think every match I feel much better,” Pant said in the after the match. “Today, I got an opportunity for Marsh not there, and I felt that the time I spend in the wicket, it will help me move forward in the tournament.”

While the innings of the pants was brief, Nicholas Gorn scored 61 runs in 34 balls, chasing 61 runs in his fourth fifty of the season. The pants were full of praise: “We are happy for Nicholas Gauran in our team. The way he is reading the game and the batting is unprecedented.”
Pants appreciated their bowlers for pulling things back after a strong GT started. “The way we pulled back it was amazing … The idea was to bowl Yorker and slow people in the wicket, and execution was present.”
