Arperton’s Rikke Madsen made a memorable comeback for action after more than a year, returning to his lover Martin Thomson with a surprising on-picked offer after winning 3–0 at Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The 27 -year -old Madsen woman came out of the bench in the second half of the woman Super League Clash, marking her return after giving birth in October.
As his colleagues celebrated victory, Denmark International was surprised when his partner Thomson went on the pitch with his newborn and flowers, before getting down on a knee.
Madsen told the BBC, “I have been waiting for this moment for so long.” “I have been aiming to get back as soon as possible after getting pregnant.
“Today my little child is getting five months old, so coming back is very good. Asking me to marry her with my lover, it was a bit twist. I did not expect it.”
Madsen said that since her last appearance for Everton on 10 March 2024, she was uncertain when she could return to the pitch.
Now his return will now be remembered as one of the most happy days of his life.
“A very happy day. I didn’t know that I was about to come and I didn’t specifically know he was going to propose to me,” he said. “The first thing I said to second girls was that I hate surprise, but it was a fine.”
