The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which is the apex court to postpone sports disputes internationally, asked the All India Football Federation to declare Churchill Brothers as I-League Champions. While hearing the appeal to Antar Kashi, CAS stopped the decision of the AIFF. A judgment by the vice-president of the CAS Appellates Arbitration Division said: “The All India Football Federation is ordered to not announce the winner of the I-League 2024/2025 or to organize a medal ceremony for the I-League 2024-25, until the current arbitration is over.”
The controversy was born because in an I league game, Kashi opponents Namdari FC allegedly fielded an disqualified player against the club. At the end of the season, Inter Kashi and Churchill Brothers found themselves into an organ in the numeral table. Churchill topped the standing with 40 points after 22 rounds, while Inter Kashi had 39. I league the winner enters ISL. But Inter Kashi appealed for the final standing for the AIFF, whose appeal committee then decided in favor of the Goen Club and officially crowned Churchill Brothers as champions.

CAS ruling further said: “Application for provisional measures filed by Inter Kashi FC CAS 2025/A/11374 Inter Kashi FC vs. AIFF and Churchill Brothers FC Goa and Namdhari FC have been awarded. The decision submitted by the appeal committee rendered on April 18, 2025.”
The UP Club issued a statement after CAS’s decision: “Inter Kashi has welcomed the order at its request for the provisional measures issued for the vice-president of the appeal, which for the court of arbitration of the Court of Arbitration for the Court of Arbitration of the Court of Arbitration I-League for the Court of Arbitration of Court of Arbitration for the Court of Arbitration of Court of Arbitration. Does or I-League conducts a medal ceremony for 2024-25 until the current mediation has been concluded.
CAS also said that the All India Football Federation, Churchill Brothers FC Goa and Namdhari FC are given one time.
Limit the difference to 29 April to give full answer to the application of Kashi.
The order also states that the cost of the current order will be determined at the final award or at any other final disposal of this mediation.
