Ravens first drafted a kicker in its 30 -year franchise history, which creates more uncertainty about the future of Justin Tucker in Baltimore.
Baltimore on Saturday selected Arizona’s Tyler Loop in the sixth round of NFL draft, which comes three months after Tucker’s first sexual misconduct. According to the Baltimore banner, Tucker is facing allegations of inappropriate behavior by 16 massage physicians from eight high -end spas and wellness centers.
Asked how to affect the roster spot of the tucker other than the loop, Eric Dacosta, the general manager of the revenue, said, “I have not really thought about this point. I just thought (Loop) was really a talented player and it is understandable for a lot of different reasons for us. It understood to take it for us.
Team officials have earlier said that they will take a decision on Tucker after NFL finalizes their investigation. Tucker has disputed the allegations twice.
Decosta said on Saturday that he did not know what the timetable will be with the investigation. It is also not clear whether the loop will compete with a tucker for a kicker job or if expected the loop will be a revenue kicker in this season.
“I think they are both on the roster right now,” said Decosta. “This was a situation for us where we are just trying to find the best football players, so we are excited to see what he can do. He will be here next week (and we) will get a chance to see his leg and this will help us to find out that our decision is going to move forward.”
The loop was so confident that it would be chosen by Baltimore that she bought a revenue T-shirt a few days ago. He kept it after being selected by Baltimore.
Asked how much pressure she feels if she competes or chases at the footsteps of NFL’s most accurate kicker, the loop said to the reporters of Baltimor, “I think it is actually more exciting than pressure, just because it gives you something to shoot, we want to improve it always. I want to improve with it.
Known to one of the strongest legs in this draft, the loop has changed six out of nine attempts from the 50-Plus yard, including a 62-yard maker in the previous season. In NFL Scouting Combine, Loop hit 13 of 14 field goal efforts (93.3%) and finished by creating 60-yard.
Two of the kickers seen by the loop are Nick Lok and Tucker. Loop saw Tucker in college as he was a Texas fan.
“I praise a lot of parts of his game,” Loop said. “But this is one of those things, like, ‘Hey, I have found things that I can do to learn from them, but I have also got my own style and my own kicking and just to find out what is going to work to find out what is going to be a bucket and kick and game winning.”
The 35 -year -old Tucker is a seven -time Pro Bowl Kicker, but he is coming out of his 13 -year -old career. He missed out on 10 total kicks in the previous season.
A source told ESPN that NFL’s investigation began in February. They have been accused of women of sexual inappropriate behavior.
If ravens participate with tucker, they will possibly need to divide $ 7.5 million into dead money in two sessions and to nominate him as a June -1 cut to get $ 4.2 million in salary cap space this year.
Ravens are final out of 32 teams in NFL to draft a kicker.
