Prince William feels ‘honoured’ to attend major event without Kate Middleton
Prince William has said that he was ‘honoured’ to attend a major event in Monaco without his wife Princess of Wales Kate Middleton.
The future king joined the world leaders to attend the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in Monaco.
Later, taking to Instagram and X, formerly Twitter handle, Kensington Palace released photos of the Prince with his statement.
William says, “Honoured to attend the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in Monaco. A vital moment to accelerate the transition to a sustainable and regenerative marine economy.”
He continued, “Inspiring to catch up with Earthshot Finalists working to ‘Revive our Oceans’. From restoring coral reefs to transforming seaweed farming and plastic pollution prevention.
“The ocean sustains life, regulates our climate, and feeds billions, but it’s under threat. Solutions exist, and action is urgent. Grateful to stand alongside world leaders and changemakers, united in commitment to protect 30% of our ocean by 2030 and drive progress ahead of the UN Ocean Conference.”
The Prince of Wales travelled to Monaco without Kate and his three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Prince William attended the Blue Economy and Finance Forum at the Grimaldi Forum on Sunday.
In his speech, Prince William says, “The truth is that healthy oceans are essential to all life on earth. They generate half of the world’s oxygen, regulate our climate and provide food for more than three billion people.
“And today, they need our help.”
He continued, “Rising sea temperatures, plastic pollution and overfishing are putting pressure on these fragile ecosystems and on the people and communities who depend most upon them.”
“What once seemed an abundant resource is diminishing before our eyes. We all stand to be impacted. And we are all responsible for change – both negative and positive.
“But there remains time to turn this tide.”
