    • FBR reform progressing rapidly, says Shehbaz.
    • Third-party validation ordered for FBR changes.
    • Faceless Customs System yielding positive results.

The government is determined to achieve success in turning Pakistan into a stable global economy through sustainable institutional reforms, following the historic victory in Marka-e-Haq, said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday.

Chairing a review meeting on Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) reforms on Monday in Islamabad, he said institutional reforms are rapidly progressing in all sectors.

He emphasised that all government institutions are working tirelessly to eliminate corruption and other shortcomings, such as a lack of transparency from national institutions.

He directed engagement with globally renowned companies for third-party validation of the ongoing initiatives and reforms in FBR.

The premier said recent positive economic indicators are clear proof of the right direction of the government’s policies.

PM Shehbaz expressed satisfaction with the recent performance of the Faceless Customs Assessment System.

He said reforms like the Faceless Customs Assessment System, introduced to ensure transparency, are producing encouraging results.

Meanwhile, in a meeting with the PM, President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday urged the government to take practical and impactful steps in the upcoming budget to provide relief to the common man.

He stated this while meeting the premier at the Governor’s House Lahore, to discuss the prevailing political and security situation of the country.

During the meeting, the top leadership held wide-ranging discussions on national affairs, including the country’s political climate and security challenges.

The participants also reviewed the outcomes of the prime minister’s recent visits to friendly nations and their significance for Pakistan’s foreign relations.

The discussion also touched upon coordination and cooperation among political allies, emphasising the importance of unity in the current political landscape.

The meeting was also attended by Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, and Senator Saleem Mandviwalla.

The federal government is set to roll out fiscal budget on June 10 (Tuesday), immediately after Eid ul Adha holidays.
