During this time, he consumes only one meal a day, a routine she believes that she aligns with the natural digestive cycle of the body, especially during the monsoon season.
His fasting discipline is beyond Chaturmas. During Navratri, Modi follows an even more harsh diet, which only avoids food for nine days while consuming warm water. He revealed that drinking warm water has been a stable in his routine, and over time, his body naturally became compatible with this habit.
Another important fasting period for them is Chaitra Navratri in March or April. During this time, he eats only one type of fruit per day for nine days. “If I choose papaya, for all nine days, I will not eat anything else – just papaya,” they shared. This deep root of fasting tradition, he emphasized, has been an integral part of his life for more than 50 years.
