Facepalm: Hackers have been a frequent problem in the PC version of Star Wars Battlefront II over the years, but a recent wave of attacks has completely uncontrolled some mode of online shooter. The EA is allegedly working on a fix, but the players are waiting for days with a public response from the company.
The subreddit and official support forums for Star Wars Battlefront II are currently full of complaints about a hack, which has broken parts of the game for all players. Some users report that each server is now inaccessible for 40-Khiladi mode such as domination and Ganga attack.
Hackers have clearly deployed a script that prevents the players from sponing in the affected server, which makes all matches empty. The first versions of the hack were only active, while the attackers were logged in, allowing the players to enjoy the game during a few hours. However, the update script now shuts down all legitimate players indefinitely.
To make the cases worse, the Moding Group Kabar reports that some players received derogatory chat messages and were docxed after facing hackers. The group also warns that scammers can replicate administrators and spread fake propagation. Kabar claims that EA has implemented a server-side fix to address a serious vulnerability, but the company has not yet issued an official statement.
Bug and Hack have plagued Battlefront II for years. At the end of 2021, a bug made all the players unimaginable in a few matches, effectively broke the game. EA worsened the problem months before addressing it, and some users suspected hackers. Some players have linked recent attacks to a player named “Blix”, who was seen giving a threatening message to the administrators last year.
Although EA abolished the primary development of Battlefront II in 2020, the game has since maintained a stable player base. There are many possibilities that when Epic Games Store introduced it for free in 2021, anyone allowed anyone to import games to his library in EA’s launcher.
The Kyber is currently developing a broader modging platform for Battlefront II that shows a dedicated server browser, support for custom server, a completely new launcher, Nexus Mods Integration and other features. A mod called Kyber V2 is currently in beta. With the onset of independent servers, the game may eventually receive some protection against hacking-and a chance on long-term protection, even after EA eventually closes its official server.
