Islamabad: Pakistanis across the country celebrated Eid ul Fitr with religious enthusiasm and traditional enthusiasm, offered prayers for unity, peace and prosperity.
The day began with a special congregation prayer in mosques and Idgahs, where people sought divine blessings for the progress and security of the country.
Eid is the time of happiness and solidarity, gathering families to celebrate this opportunity. People wear traditional dress, visit their loved ones, and exchange sweets and gifts.
Special dishes such as sheer khurma and various meat dishes are prepared, while children eagerly assemble the ED from the elders, which combine the feeling of festive.
To mark the occasion, the leadership of the country urged people to remember those people and to contribute generously.
President Zardari emphasized unity on Eid
President Asif Ali Zardari extended his heartfelt greetings to the nation and Muslim world, highlighting the importance of sharing Eid with the needy people.
He said, “We should actively fulfill our obligations of zakat, charity and fitrana so that no needy person is deprived of Eid’s happiness,” he said. He described Eid as a divine gift, which was given as a reward for fasting and worship seen during Ramadan.
The President emphasized that Ramadan teaches patience, endurance and compassion for less lucky, and these values should be reflected in daily life.
Emphasizing the need for unity, he urged Pakistanis to support each other and contribute to the progress and stability of the country.
He illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and also prayed for the Indian people, hoping that they would soon celebrate Eid in peace.
PM Shahbaz called for national solidarity
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said in his Eid message that the festival is a symbol of the values of happiness, gratitude, brotherhood and sympathy.
He urged the nation to maintain the principles of patience and sacrifice beyond Ramadan.
Highlighting the challenges of Pakistan’s face, Premier called for unity against extremism, sectarianism and external threats. He said, “We need to unite for the integrity and stability of the country and should not allow any conspiracy to succeed.”
The Prime Minister emphasized collective responsibility to strengthen the economy and social fabric, given that his government is making all efforts for economic revival and law and order.
He paid tribute to the armed forces, whose personnel continued to sacrifice their lives in the fight against terrorism.
PM Shahbaz recently expressed solidarity with the families of the martyrs and the victims of the Jafar Express attack. He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Palestine and IIOJK, urging the international community to interfere with the ongoing human rights violations.
Ending its message, the premiere encouraged people to deprive Eid blessings and contribute to the creation of a more kind and inclusive society.
Armed forces remembered national heroes
Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and Service Heads also extended their heartfelt Eid ul Fitr for all Pakistanis.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement, “Eid ul Fitr stands as a symbol of unity, compassion and gratitude, marking the conclusion of Ramadan.”
“For our soldiers, the real essence of Eid is embedded in honor of defending our fundamental nation – even to separate from family – while trying to promote peace, prosperity and harmony.”
“This auspicious occasion gives us an opportunity to reflect the unbreakable valor and commitment of our national heroes – brave men and women who protect our freedom and sovereignty.”
“Armed forces appreciate the sacrifices made by these courageous persons and the permanent support of their families,” said this.
The statement said that in the spirit of Eid, the armed forces of Pakistan asks all citizens to unite under the banner of love, respect and solidarity, the very principle, which defines our great nation, states in the statement.
