In a major success in local resource exploration, Mari Petroleum has announced the discovery of new oil and gas reserves in the Waziristan block.
According to Mari Petroleum, the company is the lead operator in the Waziristan block, which holds a 55% stake. This discovery is expected to promote the country’s hydrocarbon resources.
The new drilled Spinum -1 well is designed to produce 12.96 million cubic feet of gas per day, as well as 20 barrels of 20 barrels of condensate. Drilling on the site began on May 28, 2024.
The joint venture also includes OGDCL and OPI, in which Mari Petroleum has confirmed its commitment to pursue hydrocarbon exploration.
The company has accepted the support of national security institutions, federal and provincial governments to facilitate this milestone.
Earlier, in July 2024, Mari Petroleum Company successfully found new gas reserves from five wells in Sindh.
The company completed a day (MMSCFD) additional 3 million metric standard cubic feet testing, production and broadcasts per day (MMSCFD).
This development was announced after submitting a detailed report at the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
According to Mari Petroleum, natural gas extracted from Gajiz Gas area is now being supplied to needle Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).

The petroleum company gave a letter to the Pakistan Stock Exchange informing the discovery of the gas reserve in Sindh.
