Oppo has announced the Smartphone’s Oppo Reno 13 series, which is very different for devices like Samsung Galaxy A56 and Nothing Phone 3A Pro. Instead of putting back on AI, either to push up the upgrade or because some characteristics have suspected value, Oppo makes the Reno 13 phone filled with the same AI as you receive in its top phone.
The Reno13 family has three phones: Reno13 F, Reno13, and Reno13 Pro. The Reno13 Pro is the top model, and features a 50MP telephoto camera, which provides 3.5X zoom to join the 50MP main camera and the 8MP wide-angle camera. There is a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus on the front. There is a custom tuned MediaTek Demission 8350 processor, 12GB RAM and either 256GB or 512GB storage space inside the phone.
The Reno13 Pro has a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and small 1.6 mm bezels are running from outside, making it a modern appearance. Chesis is complete in aluminum and a single piece of glass on the back, graphite graphs with an unusual “cold sculpted” dual-thorough finish or a stunning plum purple. The phone weighs a modest 195 grams, with IP66, IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, and a large 5,800mAh battery with 80W wired charging.
The same processor runs the Reno13, but the phone loses the telephoto camera, which is replaced by a 2MP monochrome camera, and has a 6.59-inch, 120Hz screen. The battery capacity falls to 5,600mAh, but the device also weighs, which is just 181 grams. It comes in either black or white color. The same durability rating also applies. Not much is known about Reno13 F, but it is a base model, so any specifications above will not improve.
What about AI features?
What about AI? There are many. The Reno13 series uses Android 15 with the color OS 15 software of the Oppo, which should be similar to Oxygenos 15 software of OnePlus. Google Gemini is the main accessory, and is a circle to search, as well as an object eraser tool, a best face mode, a host of photographic AI, including an AI studio, an easy editing tool such as AI studio, and a reflection and blur rimover to change the look of your photos. There is an AI live photo mode that shoots a 1.5 second video on pressing the shutter button to make small videos.
There are AI summary equipment, AI author mode, and even AI tools that are working behind curtains to control the temperature of the device while playing games. Oppo and MediaTek worked together on the processor to ensure that it was adapted to AI imaging performance, and for heavy duty activities such as 4K 60fps videos and high speed data during online games. Unlike Samsung’s approach with Galaxy AI, it is great to see all these AI tools on the mid-range smartphone, making more people a chance to try them.
The Oppo Reno 13 series continued Oppo’s push in the UK market, which resumed in 2024. All three phones will also be released on April 3 through EE Network, Oppo’s online store, retailer Karis and Tikok.
