Los Angeles has approved only four permits for reconstruction of destroyed or damaged houses during the January wildfire in the rich enclave of Prashant Palisads, which attracts only 7,000 homes.

According to the Building and Security Department, three permits were to repair one damaged house and two for complete reconstruction. The first permit was released on 5 March, after less than two months, fire broke out through the Pacific pelisades and the surrounding area and more than 6,000 houses were destroyed or severely damaged.
