New research has identified a general supplement that can promote longevity.

Omega -3, a “healthy fat” that can help improve brain and heart health, has also slowed down biological aging.

Researchers in Switzerland studied 777 participants at the age of 70 to 85 in a random clinical test called Do-Hold over a period of three years.

This is a significant longevity benefit in healthy food at a moderate age

Participants participated in a daily omega -3 (1 -gram) dose, as well as a daily vitamin D supplement (2,000 IU), and/or a home exercise program.

At the end of the test, when measuring biological aging in individuals, researchers found that omega -3 slowed down biological aging markers.

In a study published in Journal Nature, biological aging rejuvenated three to four months, 61% cancer risk decrease and pre-formal risk was found to be 39% (a risk condition that occurs before fraud or weakness).

This effect was more strong when omega -3 supplements were paired with daily vitamin D and training three times per week at least 30 minutes of simple strength training.

Study co-writer Professor Heik Bist-Ferry in Switzerland shared the impact of clinical testing by Basel University.

He said, “The biggest clinical test to date till date is that we can revaluate biological aging in humans 70 years and above, and with simple strategies,” he told Fox News Digital.

“As in the same test, interventions also reduced cancer risk and early fraud. It is relevant to public health efforts.”

The professor said that the findings of the study support 1 gram of algae -based omega -3 daily “as safe and effective.”

Senior Medical Analyst of Fox News, Dr. Mark Sigal appreciated the conclusions, given that in just three years the effect is “important, with a additive effect of vitamin D”.

The doctor said that he believes that omega -3 fatty acids can affect longevity due to their antioxidant properties.

“Inflammation is behind many chronic diseases that can shorten the health duration and lifetime from heart disease to high cholesterol.”

Fatty types of fish including salmon, tuna and mackerel are also rich sources of omega -3 fatty acids.

People wishing to take omega -3 supplements should see their doctor to discuss potential benefits and risks, experts advised.
