According to internal minister Panch Toshkovski, at least 51 people have been killed and more than 100 injured in a disastrous fire at a pack nightclub in Kokani, North Macedonia.
A concert by band DNA exploded at around 3 pm on Sunday (02:00 GMT), when pyrotechnics was set inside the site in Kokani, about 100 km (62 mi) to the east of the capital Scopje.
“Sparks caused the fire … and the fire spread through discotheques,” Interior Minister Tokowski said on Sunday, confirming that the “fireworks equipment” used during the Blaze concert was caused by the “fireworks tools”.
A video of an event verified by Reuters shows a band, shown playing on stage by two flares by flying in the air by white spark firing. The sparks set the sealing over the band, which appear to move away as the video cut.
In social media videos, the building is completely surrounded by flames, which contains thick plums of smoke in the night sky.
The firefighters submerged the chart and the entrance of smoking for the club, named ‘Pulse’, by a local broadcaster’s TV footage.
MRT Public Broadcaster of North Macedonia said that 27 people were admitted to the hospital with severe burns at Skopje City Hospital, and another 23 was being treated at the clinical center. The injured were minors, said this.
Prime Minister Histizan Mikoski said in a post on Facebook: โThis is a difficult and very sad day for Macedonia! The loss of so many young life is irreparable, the pain of families, pain of loved ones and friends is irreversible. ,
“I call all competent institutions – health services, relevant officers – to help the injured and immediate measures to support the families of the families.”
The Ministry of Internal Affairs said that emergency services and a public prosecutor from the office of the basic public prosecutor of Kokani were at the scene.
