Mohammad Siraj was an evening to remember against Sunrisers Hyderabad, breaking his back with 4/17 figures, which were his best figures in an Indian Premier League game. Sirj’s bowling efforts in the first innings for Gujarat’s Titans ensured that Hyderabad’s franchise was limited to 152/8. Titans then claimed to win by seven wickets, chasing the target with 20 balls.

Siraj credited the new IPL rule, which allows the fielding side to apply saliva on the ball once again for his bowling feats. During the Kovid -19 epidemic, the game was banned from implementing saliva on the ball.

Asked by the host broadcaster at the mid-game interval whether he was enjoying the rule of placing saliva on the ball, Siraj said: “100%. If that ball does a little tail, it is a wicket. When there is no saliva, the ball comes easily. It did not happen.

Player of the Match Siraj also talked about how he started enjoying his bowling these days. He came in the IPL 2025 season with two disappointments: He was allowed to go to the IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore by his long -time employers before the auction and was also demolished from the Champions Trophy playing and won earlier this year.

But Siraj said that he used a break to rejuvenate his bowling.

“I am really enjoying bowling these days. I had rest (before IPL), so my bowling, my fitness and my mindset. The body is fresh, so I am really enjoying my bowling,” Siraj said.

After winning the match for Gujarat, Siraj further expanded on the “break”.

“Initially (of break), I could not digest it. But then I was explaining myself that I have a lot of things. This (selection for the Champions Trophy) was not, but I focused on my mindset, my fitness. Now enjoying my bowling. When you are selected (for the Indian team), it’s good that I am ready).

He said: “When you come to your home ground, this is a different feeling. Family was also watching, and it gives you confidence. The work I have done, in my bowling, fielding and mindset is helping me. What do you want to do when you are really executing, when you are at the top when you are on the top. When the ball is really a different feeling, it is really a different feeling, then it is really happy.
