Mahendra Singh Dhoni has addressed his future in a podcast, which was broadcast by the Super Kings of Chennai on his app after a 25 -run defeat by Delhi Capital at home in the Indian Premier League struggle on Saturday. The Chennai team is under investigation into the place of 43-year-old, as wicketkeeper-boss could not take CSK to win over Delhi.
Dhoni came to bat with a score of 74/5. This meant that Chennai required 56 delivery, in which the rate of inquiry was less than 12. Dhoni managed only 26 balls, 30 not out, as Chennai reduced the target by 25 runs. This was CSK’s third defeat with just one win this season.
“I am still playing in IPL and a year in a year. I am 43 years old, by the end of this IPL season, I will be 44 years old in July. So I have 10 months to decide whether I want to play another year and it is not deciding me; it is my body or not, whether you can play,” Dhoni said on the podcast of Raj Shamni. It could not be detected when the podcast was recorded.

Dhoni has competed some flying this season for his performance with the bat this season: he has managed to score just 76 runs in four innings with a highest score of 30*in four innings in IPL 2025, which came against the Delhi capitals. This season has been criticized for batting at 9 – 9 behind Ravichandran Ashwin in the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
