Kolkata Knight Riders eventually gained some momentum in defense of their Indian Premier League title, when KKR rebounds Royal Challengers Bangalore with an early game defeat at the Eden Gardens, defeating Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets at ACA Stadium in Guwahati. Ironically, Kolkata Knight Riders were denied favorable conditions in their home ground at Eden Gardens, concluded in Guwahati when presented with conditions that were compatible with their line-ups.
This was an unbeaten 97 from Quinton de Kock, which promoted KKR’s eight -wicket win over Rajasthan franchise. But even more importantly, it was their spinners Moin Ali and Varun Chakarwarthi, who managed to strengthen for just 151 runs in the first innings in the Royals batsmen.
During the first game vs. RCB, news reports suggested that Eden Garden Pitch Curator Sujan Mukherjee denied requests from KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane for the pitch to support more spin.
For this, a militant Mukherjee said that the pitch would not change “until I am here”.
Cricketer-Analyst Simon Doll said KKR should consider “carrying the franchise elsewhere”.
“If she is (curator), the home team is not paying attention to what she wants … I mean they are paying the stadium fees, they are paying for what is going on in the IPL, but if they are still not paying attention to what they want to the home team, just take the franchise somewhere else.
Harsh Bhogle also participated inside.
“If they are playing at home, they should get the track that they think they are favorable for their bowlers. I have seen what KKR Curator has said. If I am in KKR camp, I am very sad that I am very sad that what they said, I am not asking for 120 surfaces. I will just give a surface where my bowlers can get.
