The IPL has become a land of T20 cricket sixes and 18 editions have big hitting. Last year, 1260 sixes were shocked 1260 sixes, which were flying maximum by bat in almost every 13 delivery.
Despite being retired about four years ago, West Indies Powerhouse Chris Gayle dominates the chart for the most sixes in the IPL, with three separate teams with 357 sixes during their 141 innings in the IPL. Gayle has also recorded a record for most sixes in the same season. Gayle hit 59 sixes in 2013, improved his 51 sixes from the previous edition in 2012. Interestingly, 127 out of Gayle’s sixes came to M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Among the active batsmen, Rohit Sharma leads the chart with 282 sixes and after that 278 sixes have been recorded closely with Virat Kohli in a low innings. Kohli recently left Gayle behind for the most sixes at the same place, broke 128 sixes in Bengaluru. Thus only 10 batsmen have so far recorded more than 200 sixes in the IPL, with MS Dhoni Kohli and Rohit among the active players.
