Despite the 3–0 route against New Zealand in the recently concluded ODI series, Pakistani skipper and wicketkeeper-bater Mohammad Rizwan continued to climb the ICC men’s ODI batting rankings.
The captain climbed two spots 21 with 606 points. Bacter Fakhar Zaman, out of the squad, left two places and now seated 23rd, Imam-ul-Haq retained the 34th position.
New sensation Sam Ayub also dropped two spots, now at 38th place, while vice-captain Salman Ali Aga has gone to one place to 40.
India’s Shubman Gill placed the ranking as number one ODE batsman, followed by Babar Azam of Pakistan in the second and India’s Rohit Sharma in third place.
In the ODI bowling rankings, left -handed pacer Shaheen Afridi dropped one in 12th position with 601 points, while Haris Rauf dropped two places to 24th.
Right-Arm Pesar Nasim Shah finished 43rd at five places with 494 points. Mohammad Wasim Jr., who returned to the squad during the recent New Zealand ODI series, dropped six places to 68th.
New Zealand’s stand-in Captain Michael Bracewell’s ICC men’s ODI all-rounder rankings increased significantly.
Bracewell contributed 85 runs with BAT, including a brilliant half -century in the final ODI, and took two wickets in three matches.
His performance helped him reach two spots 5th position, leaping to his compatriot Mitchell Santner (6th) to become the most ranked Kiwi all-rounder.
59’s Bracewell’s Blitz scored 40 balls, including Seema and maximum, the black cap operated from its 42 overs to 264/8 from its 42 overs.
He followed it with 1/39 from eight overs, as Ben Sears’ five-wicket hall helped New Zealand to seal the 43-run win and complete the 3–0 series sweep.
Bracewell’s innings also saw him jumping at 12 places in the batsman rankings, which is now at 89th position, retaining his 18th position in the bowler rankings.
Ben Sears was a standout bowler of the series, taking five wickets in the third ODI, which ended with 10 wickets in the series, giving him the Player of the Series Award. Sears’ remarkable performance saw him jumping at 64 places in the bowling rankings.
