Manchester, England – Ruben Amorim said that he looked at the 1999 documentary of Manchester United to “inspiration”, before his team fought back from the Europe League to register a spectacular victory over Europea.
United booked his place in the semi -finals after scoring three times in the end of an extra time at an additional night at Old Trafford.
Amorim’s team extended 2โ0, where returned from 2โ2, went down 4โ2 despite playing against 10 men after the dismissal of Corentin Toliso and then somehow won 5โ4 at night and won 7โ6 over Agiget to win 5-4 at night.
This was a drama to match United in the 1999 Champions League final when Teddy Shingham and Ole Gunnar Solcare scored twice in stoppage time against Bayern Munich to seal the traables.
“I was looking at the 1999 documentary to give some inspiration for these moments,” Amorim told TNT Sports.
“It was a great night. The team was tired, 4-2 below with another player, we think it is over, but it has never ended here.
“Everything is possible here, you feel the environment.”
The Battle of United in additional time began with Bruno Fernandes Penalty. Kobbie Mainoo came out of the bench out of the bench to make it 4-4 at night before the head of Harry Maguire during the stoppage time in extra time and sealed a memorable European night in Old Trafford.
“The sound of the stadium was the best ever,” said Amorim.
“Some people collect shirts, scarves, but I want to keep that sound, this is the best voice in the world.
“I feel for those who had to leave 4โ2 due to traffic, they will become groups.
“We know that we are underperform and deserve all critics, but we have time to make some special this season.”
