Pep Guardiola has said that winning the FA Cup can also save the season of Manchester City.
City booked its place in the quarter-finals with a 3–1 win over Plymouth Argal at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Guardiola’s team has reached the final eight of the competition for the seventh consecutive year. But he admits that not even the trophy will be made to get out of the Premier League title and his early exit from the Champions League.
Guardiola said, “It is better to win the traable or quadruple, let’s go.”
“This season, especially in two competitions, we are not good. And this is reality.
“We did not qualify for the first time of the Champions League (for the final -16) because we are here, and we have no chance to win with 13, 14, 15 games in the Premier League (title). This has never happened. The season has not been good.”
The city had to fight back with a goal against Plymouth, in the last round the winner of Liverpool, Maxime Talovierov gave the championship side with an edge.
Nico o’reli, playing as a temporary left-back, equaled just before half-time and added a second after the break. Kevin D Brune wrapped the result with the third goal in the last minute.
The 19 -year -old O’Rili, the January transfer window, was a matter of interest from Chelsea, before the city decided to bid late.
“Sometimes you make a good decision, otherwise he will not do two goals today,” said Guardiola.
“He is not a specific academy player. He is a physical appearance, a number 10, I would say. He can play in some positions. He is a threat from the set pieces because he is strong. I am really happy for him because he helped us a lot.”
