Police working dogs are now looking for the fourth and final missing American soldiers, whose armored vehicles were drowned in a marsh in Lithuania last week.
Three American soldiers were declared dead on Monday, when the crew recovered the M88 Hercules borned recovery vehicle from a peat marsh near Pubrad, Lithuania. According to the US Army Europe and Africa, the vehicle disappeared on 25 March.
The US Army Europe and Africa said in a statement on Tuesday, “Dogs of the Lithuanian armed forces started working yesterday afternoon and NATO Elli Estonia joined the recovery efforts this morning.”
“Two Estonian Recovery Dogs, Tilt and Maik, and their handlers flew from Telin, Estonia. They reached the scene at 2:00 am and started searching at 7:00 am today. The handlers have deployed dogs in an American naval rigid inflatable boat, which is to locate any trace scan under the surface.”

The US Army Europe and Africa also stated that “more capabilities continue to flow at the recovery site, including … two special drone systems-one of them is equipped with ground-penetrating radar-is being used to help in search.”
“The names of the deceased are pending for the next confirmation of family members,” it continued. “An investigation continues under the circumstances around the incident.”

Army Secretary Daniel Driskal wrote on Monday that “We will not rest until the fourth and last soldier is found and brought home.”
“No word can actually catch the pain of this loss, but my deep condolences go out for families, friends and fellow soldiers to mourn their heroes,” he said.
