Documents received by Live news Explain a significant inequality in the salaries of police personnel between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and other provinces.
According to the documents, the monthly salary of Balochistan’s Inspector General (IG) is 369,498 higher than IG of KP, while the SAP of Superintendent of Police (SP) in Balochistan is more than SP 2221,196 in KP.
The documents also states that there is a difference of 281,177 between Balochistan and KP in the salary of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Additional Inspectors General (AIG). In addition, the difference in salary between the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of both provinces. 306,474.
Documents suggest that the salary difference between KP and additional IGS in Balochistan is Rs 322,309. In Balochistan, a constable KP earns Rs 69,885 as compared to Rs69,127, while the salary difference for assistant sub-request (ASIS) is Rs345.

KP IG Zulfikar Hameed recently wrote a letter to KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandhapur, requesting an increase in police force’s salary.
In the letter, he said that the KP police have sacrificed a huge sacrifice in the fight against terrorism and faced security threats similar to the Balochistan police. Therefore, he urged the government to declare KP a “tough area” and increase police salary to match them in Balochistan.
