Karachi: Karachi Kings scored 56 runs to Quetta Gladiators in the 10th season of Pakistan Super League at the National Stadium Karachi on Friday.
Kings, led by David Warner, won their second win in the ongoing cricket tournament today, thanks to a great all -round performance.
Chasing the target of 176, gladiators were limited to 119–9. His innings faced early failures, the first time when Mir Hamza dismissed Finn Alan for just six, leaving the score 8–1 after 0.5 overs.
In the next over, Hasan Ali sent Hasan Nawaz back to the pavilion for a single run. With that wicket, Ali reached 114 PSL wickets, which became the most -time wicket -taker in the history of the tournament.
Kusal Mendis and Saud Shakeel briefly tried to stabilize the ship, but their partnership was short -lived. Mendis was rejected by scoring 12 off eight balls, leaving the gladiators 34–3 after 3.5 overs.
Gladiators continued to lose wickets as the pressure increased. Hasan Ali took his second wicket, in which Khwaja Nafe was rejected for only one.
Mohammad Nabi bowled a young woman to shut down the powerplay, after which another major wicket, release Rosawe. Gladiators were reeling at 37–5 after six overs.
Abbas Afridi took his first wicket, as Faheem Ashraf was sent back for only three runs, leaving Gladiators 47–6 after nine overs.
After the strategic timeout, Abbas hit again, removed Seen Abbut for just three runs, leaving Gladiators at 57–7 in 11.4 overs.
A 43 -run partnership between Mohammad Amir and Saud Shakeel for the eighth wicket gave some hope to the gladiators. The purpose of their efforts is to secure a respectable clan and avoid heavy defeat.
Although Aamir’s innings ended for 30 off 16 balls, was rejected by Amer Jamal, leaving Gladiators 100–8 in 16.5 overs.
Hasan Ali completed his hat-trick of wickets, rejecting Abrar Ahmed for only five runs, leaving gladiators at 110–9 in 18.4 overs.
Finally, gladiators were limited to 119–9, with opener Saud Shakeel 33 unbeaten and Ali Majid scored nine.
For kings, Hasan Ali topped the wickets with three, while Mohammad Nabi and Abrar Ahmed claimed two wickets.
Earlier, the option to bat first, Kings’s Tim Safart and Captain David Warner made a solid start, with 50 runs during the powerplay.
Although Gladiators Abrar Ahmed hit the first blow, Warner was dismissed for 31 runs off 20 balls, leaving the Kings in 60–1 to 5.4 overs.
In the seventh over, Saud Shakeel scored 27 runs in 15 balls to reduce Kings by 62–2.
Ali Majid continued to apply pressure for gladiators in his debut match, Muhammad Riazullah and then Khushdil Shah rejecting for only one run, leaving Kings 91–4 in 11.2 overs.
The 34-run partnership between James Wins and Irfan Khan gave Kings some stability, but Irfan’s dismissal by Sean Abbott left 125–5 score in 15.1 overs for 17.
With a significant knock of 70, Vince arrived in his second fifty of the tournament supported by Mohammad Nabi, who scored 18 runs.
Mohammad Amir had a late influence, removed both the prophet and Vince in the final as Kings ended at 175–7. For gladiators, Amir and Majid claimed every two wickets.
